Manager, Grants and Contracts

POSITION DESCRIPTION
As a Grants and Contracts Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the organization's federal grants and contracts processes. You will play a critical role in securing funding for the organization's projects and ensuring compliance with grant and contract requirements. This position requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Experience in managing federal grants and contracts is required. This role will report to the Chief Development Officer.
ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES
Grants and Contracts Administration
- Develop, implement, and manage systems and processes for grants and contracts administration.
- Research, identify, and pursue potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources.
- Prepare and submit grant applications, proposals, and contract bids, ensuring compliance with guidelines and requirements.
- Negotiate and finalize terms and conditions of grants and contracts with funding agencies and partners.
- Review and analyze grant and contract documents, identifying risks, opportunities, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor and track grant and contract performance, ensuring adherence to timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, databases, and documentation related to grants and contracts.
Financial Management
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with funding agencies, partners, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with program managers and project teams to ensure alignment of grant and contract objectives with project goals.
- Provide guidance and support to staff involved in grant and contract management, ensuring awareness of compliance requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries, clarifications, and issue resolution related to grants and contracts.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Stay updated on relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing grants and contracts.
- Coordinate with Finance staff to develop and implement internal controls and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with resolving compliance issues, conducting investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Proven experience in grants and contracts management, preferably in a nonprofit or government organization.
- Proven experience in managing federal grants and contracts
- Strong knowledge of grant and contract regulations, compliance requirements, and financial management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management and database management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively to changing demands while continually delivering high performance.
- The ability and willingness to work in a virtual/remote environment.
LOCATION
The location of this position is flexible, however, the Washington, D.C. metro area would be a plus. This is a fully remote position.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $70,00-$80,000 annually depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to working remotely, Hispanic Access offers full-time employees a generous benefits package that includes a 100% paid health, dental, and vision for the individual, an unlimited vacation policy, 10 sick days per year, 13 paid holidays, a monthly phone/internet stipend and a 401(k) plan with employer match.
