Community Navigator Program

We are connecting community leaders to climate resilience resources.

Hispanic Access Foundation has partnered with the USDA Forest Service to offer the Community Navigators Program (CNP). Our program will serve as a bridge between 1,200+ Latino-serving community-based/Spanish-speaking organizations,and those at high risk of wildfires and extreme climate change, and the U.S. Forest Service.

We will help local leaders build climate resilience within their communities by finding and accessing grant funding and capacity-building support. 180 of those organizations will be stewarded through the grant application process for BIL/IRA funding available through the U.S. Forest Service.

How?

Hispanic Access Navigators will provide guidance and support to 180 local leaders and community-based organizations in identifying funding eligibility, resources needed to apply for grant funds, and workshops and training sessions centered on building climate resilience and organizational capacity.

We will:

  • Offer training and mentorship on identifying, applying to, and managing federal grants, contracts and partnerships.
  • Provide office hours, 1:1 coaching/mentoring.
  • Assist with applications, review, and administrative procedures.
  • Provide activities and technical assistance in collaboration with the Forest Service Community Navigator staff.
