Isabela has a passion for ecology and conservation that continues to drive her towards a life-long career in wildlife science. Her curiosity and passsion has taken her across the United States – from Alaska to Puerto Rico to pursue what she loves most of all: field work and science! Her most recent work has taken her to South Dakota State University where she completed a masters degree researching plant-pollinator interactions in natural grassland communities in the Prairie Coteau. 

During her time in South Dakota State University, she developed a number of valuable skills such as insect and native prairie plant identification, gaining familiarity with the statistical program R, ecological modeling, and GIS. Though her most recent work involves pollinators, she has certainly relished in working with other taxa in previous research projects such as American bison, raptors, grassland birds, and freshwater fish.
