Luis (Daniel) Cisneros

Daniel is a motivated, first-generation college student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He began his career in plant conservation through his interpretation work with the California State Parks in Malibu and went on to monitor invasive and rare plant species with the National Parks Service in the Santa Monica Mountains. He is especially excited to start his upcoming 2 year project with the US Fish and Wildlife service and the Ecological Society of America’s SEEDS Partnership for Undergraduate Research. He will help in an ongoing effort to recover Federally listed plants on the Northern Channel Islands and create a digital story map intended to educate the public on the importance of seed ecology and restoration. When Daniel is not working or studying, he can be found tending to his native garden, napping with his cat, or exploring the beaches of Central California.
