Sophie Schaumann

Sophie Schaumann is a senior at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota majoring in Biology and Environmental & Sustainability Studies with a minor in Mathematics. Throughout her life, she has become increasingly aware of humans' impacts on wildlife, natural resources, and all living species. She wants to devote her life to a career in conservation to protect and preserve natural resources and all life for generations to come. She loves spending quality time outdoors, exploring new and old locations, learning more about our world, and connecting with others. Sophie has spent the past two years in her undergraduate studying microplastic prevalence within the Prairie Pothole Region of North America. She is excited to continue her environmental research as a USFWS fellow at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge in Minnesota.
