Aqualks #3: Olas y Acción Fisheries Awareness, Access, and Engage Series
Tuesday, December 05, 2023 | 04:00pm - 05:30pm EDT
To many communities, Fish hold an extremely deeper meaning than just Food. If we all look beyond the meal we can observe/see how fish and by extension fisheries play a tremendous role in the ceremonial tradition(s), ecological knowledge(s), as well as how peoples create and embody multiple relationalities between themselves and the aqua/landscapes. No communities know this as intimately as Indigenous ones know, since time immemorial Indigenous communities have learned, passed-on, and protected the stories of each fish and their habitats as integral interwoven life, fluid without borders. We invite you to share space with our honored panelists to listen about their fish/fisheries and hopefully to hear what we can do to be better stewards alongside them.
All of these questions and more can be asked and even answered during our Fisheries Awareness, Access, and Engage Series, Hosted by Hispanic Accesses Olas y Accion Network.
