qualk #4: Olas y Acción's Fisheries Awareness, Access, and Engage Series
Wednesday, December 06, 2023 | 04:00pm - 05:30pm EDT
What is the mystery between fish, fisheries and Hispanic/Latin people, I mean we love Seafood (because when we see food it's gone) not just preparing, cooking, and consuming it but many of us love to jump in the water and flyfish, some of us use nets or traps/pots, others jump on their boats to rod and reel some big game, mostly for food but sometimes recreationally to mount on a wall as a reminder, a way back to our "Fish Stories''.
We know that the Hispanic/Latino communities are critical fishers, fish consumers, and fisheries caretakers. Exploring what this looks like day-in and day-out will help demystify our connection to the sea while situating first hand accounts and waves forward for change.
Either way bring a little lemon, a little fire, to break bread and build community from coast to coast. We invite you to get deep with our special Hispanic/Latino panel and remember to bring the Salsa!
All of these questions and more can be asked and even answered during our Fisheries Awareness, Access, and Engage Series, Hosted by Hispanic Accesses Olas y Accion Network.
