DAILY RECORD: Dover Club to Host Clinic Thursday to Increase COVID Vaccine Rate

Category: News Coverage

A local nonprofit is organizing a free clinic designed to improve the COVID-19 vaccination rate among Latinos.

The Hispanic Access Foundation is hosting the clinic at Club Colombia, on East Blackwell Street in Dover, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. Initial doses and boosters of the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson will be available, and walk-ins are welcome.

The clinic is part of the "Unity in Community" project, launched by the Hispanic Access Foundation in partnership with the Health Resources and Services Administration to address the impact COVID has had on Latino communities. A press release from the foundation noted obstacles such as a language barrier, lack of transportation and mistrust of the vaccine that has limited the vaccination rate among the group.
