About this Event

Title: Naturaleza y Comunidad: Intro to iNaturalist & Nature ID

Where: Springfield Armory National Historic Site

When: July 17, 2022, 12 - 3 pm

Latino Outdoors Western MA and Latino Outdoors Connecticut are teaming up to celebrate Latino Conservation Week, and we hope that you will join us!

This week we celebrate the Latine community in the outdoors and conservation! We are hosting an introduction to identifying living things you find in nature using iNaturalist, a free app and website that allows you to share information with the global community on what you see. iNaturalist can prepare you to identify the plants, animals, and insects that you come across anytime. When we use iNaturalist to identify a plant, animal or insect - the information helps scientists and conservation professionals all over the world. We can participate in conservation from anywhere - for free - as long as we know how to use iNaturalist!

We will be offering a free lunch to start the outing and then going through a quick introduction to iNaturalist and how to use it to identify the nature around you! We’ll stay on the Springfield Armory campus and walk around together to see what we can identify!

Coming from CT and interested in a gas card to offset the cost of attending? Please register and we will reach out with details.

LO Western Mass and LO Connecticut also invite you to follow us all week for chances to win awesome LO swag and other prizes!

Latino Conservation Week: Disfrutando y Conservando Nuestra Tierra is an initiative of Hispanic Access Foundation (HAF). Latino Conservation Week was created to support the Latino community getting into the outdoors and participating in activities to protect our natural resources.
