HAF Launches Ad Campaign in Support of President Biden’s Executive Orders on the Environment, Oil and Gas Drilling

Category: News Releases

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Starting this week, Hispanic Access Foundation is launching an online ad campaign celebrating President Biden’s recent executive actions on the environment and oil and gas drilling, and celebrating his effort to protect the environment and Latino’s health – and urging him to keep fighting for climate justice.

“The Biden Administration has taken an important first step toward filling the gaps that Latinos and other communities of color face in the outdoors and in the realm of environmental justice,” said Maite Arce HAF, president and CEO. “We ask this new Administration to continue taking bold actions that address the climate emergency and its impact on vulnerable communities like our own.”

The ads will run on social media sites and news outlets across New Mexico, Colorado and Washington, DC. The ads can be viewed at this LINK

“We all share a strong moral obligation to be good stewards of our public lands and to intentionally preserve and celebrate the diverse cultural heritage that makes up this nation,” said Arce. “HAF applauds President Biden’s action to protect the health of our communities by taking executive action to tackle the climate crisis and ensure the benefits of nature are realized equitably.”

In January, President Biden issued a series of executive orders. The first commits the nation to protecting 30% of U.S. lands and waters by 2030, which will help fill the gaps that Latinos and other communities of color face in accessing nature. The second pauses oil and gas leasing for the first time in 40 years, which will help ensure that public lands and waters are used responsibly and sustainably, and help address the climate emergency.
