Category: News Releases

Hispanic Access Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of Ellen Alderton, who will serve as the Senior Grants Officer. As part of her new role, she will collaborate closely with all departments, as well as current and potential partners to develop successful grant proposals. Alderton brings more than 30 years of experience in marketing, grant writing, and fundraising for Latino-serving organizations and initiatives.

“My godfather was Peruvian, leading me to study Spanish in school and sparking an interest in Latino/Hispanic cultures,” said Alderton. “This, coupled with my interest in supporting underserved communities, made me want to work for Hispanic Access Foundation.”

Before coming to Hispanic Access, Alderton worked for various minority-serving organizations including the United Nations, the Peace Corps, and Self Reliance Foundation/Hispanic Radio Network. Alderton has also worked as a research associate for the Bretton Woods Committee and served as a technical writer and training program manager at the United Nations. She also directed public interest mass-media campaigns as an executive producer for Hispanic Radio Network and oversaw global marketing efforts for the Peace Corps Office of University Programs.

“Ellen brings a wealth of expertise that will undoubtedly elevate our mission,” said Maite Arce, president and CEO of the Hispanic Access Foundation. “We look forward to the positive influence she will bring to our organization and the meaningful collaborations that will undoubtedly flourish under her guidance.”

Ellen Alderton earned a B.A. in Psychology from Wellesley College and an M.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She also completed exchange programs at M.I.T. and the Universidad de Cordoba in Spain.
