“Latinos have contributed to the flourishing of our country in ways both big and small – economically, culturally, and socially. Still, they are too often marginalized, misunderstood, and minimized within the American experience,” said Maite Arce, President and CEO of Hispanic Access Foundation. “At Hispanic Access Foundation, we believe that comunidad is the ultimate expression of what it means to be Latino in America – putting others before self, leading families and communities forward, and celebrating the richness and vibrancy we bring to this nation.”
This month, Hispanic Access Foundation will spotlight Latino leaders and stories across the nation that reflect the power of community and the vibrancy of Latino heritage. By building bridges of access and understanding, the organization ensures Latino communities gain equal opportunities to thrive while fostering connections that allow non-Latinos to engage with and better understand the Latino experience.
“For us, Hispanic Heritage Month is both a celebration and a call to action,” Arce added. “It is a reminder that the Latino story is central to the American story, and together we can create a future where every community is interconnected, valued, and empowered.”
For more than 15 years, Hispanic Access Foundation has been committed to lifting Latino voices in conservation, education, health, leadership development, and civic engagement. By fostering mutual understanding and meaningful relationships, the organization continues to open pathways that allow Latino communities to thrive while shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future for all.
