Alyssa Corder

Alyssa Corder recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire with a B.S. in Ecology and Environmental Biology. During her time as an undergraduate, she had the opportunity to work with Dr. Jennifer E. Smith in her Ground Squirrel Ecology Lab. Her research team focused on entering and tagging trail camera photos, along with presenting their research project “Caught on Camera: Are humans a safety cue for mammalian vertebrates?” at the National Conference of Undergraduate Research in 2023. She also had the opportunity to work as a research assistant in a Wheat Stem Sawfly Lab and interned in the Birds and Tropics department at the Minnesota Zoo. As an undergraduate one of her favorite field experiences was attending a shark research workshop with Minorities in Shark Sciences and Field School in 2022. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys going on walks, reading, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her friends and loved ones.
