Kaitlyn Howell received her B.S. in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington in December 2016. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Texas at Arlington studying Evolutionary Ecology. As a doctoral candidate, Kaitlyn has performed duties as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and a Graduate Research Assistant. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, she has taught multiple labs including General Ecology and General Zoology. Kaitlyn balances these duties with her own research, mentorship, and outreach. Kaitlyn has received various research grants and awards from the Society for the Study of Evolution, Sigma Xi, and the University of Texas at Arlington, among others. Recently, she published her first article titled “Coordinated evolution of brain size, structure, and eye size in Trinidadian killifish”.
